Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap: Season 2 Episode 4 – ‘Face My Enemy’

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to pump us up with action and badassery, and “Face My Enemy” is no exception. However, this week is more of a half-way filler episode that highlights two of our favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Phil Coulson and Melinda May.

We start off in the aftermath of a church getting burned to a crisp. A team of other priests meet with the one another at the church. There they are shown the one item that survived the fire: a wood painting of the Virgin Mary and the Santo Niño which dates back to the early 1500s. A miracle, indeed, but with one hitch: there are mysterious writing scrawled all over the back of it. Similar to what Garrett and Coulson have been writing.
