2014’s Top Contributions From Women in TV

As far as the subject of women goes, the media made 2014 seem like it was super crummy year. While that may be true in some cases, we’ve managed to kick some major ass in some of the most male dominated industries — TV. Here are some ladies who had a pretty good 2014.

2014 is quickly drawing to a close, and that usually means us creating a highlight reel in our heads on all the great things that have happened over the past year. One major hot topic in 2013 was the rise of female heroes in movies, TV, and video games. This year, however, seemed to have flipped the script with cat-calling and the men who “man-splain” the virtues of such acts, Gamergate… The list goes on. But what kind of woman would we be if we let silly things like that keep us down? There are still plenty of women who kept pile driving through that fabled glass ceiling this year, and Legion of Leia wants to celebrate some of them.

Just for the sake of keeping my fingers from bleeding and/or going insane trying to remember every single exceptional woman in every industry, I’m going to stick to select few currently working in television.
